Wellness Overwhelm
Keeping up with “wellness” in today’s digital age can be crazy overwhelming. On one hand, lots of wellness trends are built off of meaningful information and insights that can help us to intentionally cultivate and live our best lives. On the other hand, the billion dollar wellness industry can throw so many “must-dos” at us that it makes living well feel like an impossible full-time job with a relentlessly unpleasable boss.
*Deep Breath*. I’ve been there. I was twenty-three years old when I fell in love with the idea of intentional wellness. And it took me approximately 3 days on the internet to acquire enough overwhelm-induced discouragement to want to throw in the towel and claim “ignorance is bliss”. I yoyo’d through one wellness trend and social media influencer-backed brand at a time for years before I laid down the pressure and recognized that true wellness could be a lot simpler AND messier than I once believed.
I stressed out about stress management and all things wellness until I created a motto to remind me of my need to lay down wellness idols and embrace grace: Live well 23/7, because no one is perfect.
For me, sharing the Top 7 Wellness Trends Expected to Take Over Social Media in 2024 isn’t about creating pressure to try each of these trends or force them into every lifestyle. That’s actually the opposite of the Well Twenty Three mission: Wellness Without Overwhelm.
Instead, I hope to offer you insight into what Wellness Topics and Trends may be flooding our newsfeeds, our conversations, and our mind this year BEFORE we become obsessed with 2024’s equivalent of the Clean-Girl Aesthetic and Pickleball Craze. This way, we’ll hopefully all be able to reflect on our own wellness goals for the year, setting boundaries for what trends we plan to try out and which we need to filter out this year.

According to the 2024 Pinterest Predicts Report, it seems like bodycare is about to get its long awaited turn in the limelight this year.
From enriched body butters, to anti-aging body serums, to home spa experiences and wellness retreats, experts claim that we’re about to see a major boost in people revamping or beginning a “body skincare routine” for the first time.
Get ready to nourish and protect the largest organ in your body by leaning into intentional bodycare this year!
#2 Body-Brain Connection
The tides are turning in terms of the way we view the dynamics of health, fitness, and wellness as people are leaning into a deeper, more holistic understanding of how our body, mind, and spirit work together to create our overall well-being blueprint. In 2024, experts predict an increase in interest in the body-brain connection linking mental health, hormones, gut health, movement and physical well-being.
According to Forbes Contributor Joni Sweet, 2024 will bring us a lot of information about the powerful Vagus Nerve, Blue Zone Diets, and Cycle-Syncing as we seek to better understand the body-brain connection.
Beyond these shifts, Sasha Aparicio, M.S. expects 2024 wellness enthusiasts to bring us increasing content on supporting a healthy gut microbiome with probiotics, prebiotics, and dietary lifestyle changes as we aim toward a more holistic wellness model.
